Skeletal remains of female elephant found in Angul
Angul: In Odisha, another dead elephant has been discovered. On Wednesday night, a forest squad in the Angul district of Odisha discovered the elephant's skeleton in a forest close to the village of Manikajodi.
Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Vivek Kumar and a team from the Forest department arrived at the scene after being alerted and removed the elephant skeleton for examination.
The DFO reported that the remains are those of a female elephant who passed away around a year ago after conducting a preliminary investigation. The elephant is thought to be roughly 25 years old. He continued that since there was no sign of poaching, it is assumed that the elephant passed away naturally.
To determine the cause of death, the skeleton was transferred to the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) in Bhubaneswar.
