Miscreants trespass Kendrapara college girls’ hostel, misbehaved with students
Kendrapada: A gang of miscreants allegedly scaled the boundary wall of Kendrapada Autonomous College's women's hostel, misbehaving with the prisoners, causing a commotion, and stealing cellphones and cash.
The incident occurred on April 24th, late at night. The miscreants, who have yet to be identified, gained access to the dormitory by scaling the backside of the boundary wall, avoiding detection by security personnel at the main gate.
They allegedly misbehaved with three female students and damaged multiple rooms' windows. They also took Rs 2,500 in cash and two cellphones.
On April 25, the hostel inmates reported the event to Purnimasi Panda, the hostel administrator, who apparently did not take it seriously.
Following this, students staged a protest in front of the principal's office, calling for the superintendent to be fired. Minatiprabha Jena has been named as the next superintendent of the college.
"We've taken the situation very seriously." On the boundary wall, the old fencing wires will be removed and replaced with new ones. Principal Rajendra Prasad Tripathy was cited as saying, "Security measures would be increased for the safety of the children."
