Bhubaneswar: The West Bengal Special Task Force (STF) is expected to place Pathanisamant Lenka, who was arrested in an OTP sharing case involving Pakistani intelligence agents, on five-day remand beginning tomorrow.

A case has already been filed against accused Lenka, who is currently being held in the Jharpada Special Jail in Bhubaneswar, West Bengal.

West Bengal STF officials will question the accused about his connections with Guddu Kumar, who was arrested in December last year for passing sensitive information, including photographs of certain strategic locations in north Bengal, to his handlers in Pakistan.

The West Bengal STF, which had previously interrogated Lenka and another accused, Pritam Kar, at Jharpada jail here, wishes to question him further while he is still in custody.

After Guddu's arrest, Lenka went into hiding, and Bengal police raided his house in Itamati, Nayagarh district. He also had ties to a Patna-based woman who was recently arrested by Rajasthan police for alleged ties to Pakistani agents.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is also expected to question Lenka further after her remand period ends, according to sources. The NIA is likely to question Lenka and Abhijeet Sanjay Jambure in person.

It should be noted that the accused allegedly obtained a large number of pre-activated SIM cards in the names of others and used them to sell OTPs to various clients, including some Pakistani Intelligence Operatives (PIO)/ ISI agents in both Pakistan and India.
