IAS Ananya Das engaged to Balangir DM Chanchal Rana
Ananya Das and Chanchal Rana, both from the Odisha cadre, are getting married for the second time. On Sunday, the couple got engaged.
Bhubaneswar: Ananya Das and Chanchal Rana, both from the Odisha cadre, are getting married for the second time. On Sunday, the couple got engaged.
Ananya Das, who is now Sambalpur district collector, and Balangir collector Chanchal Rana exchanged rings in presence of their family members, close relatives and friends.
Sources said the ring ceremony was held at the official residence of Das in Sambalpur. The bureaucrat couple are likely to tie the knot in around three months.
This will be second wedding for both Das and Rana. Earlier, Das had married IAS Officer Abdaal M. Akhtar, who is now posted as the Collector of Koraput.
Similarly, Rana happanes to be ex-husband of Rayagada district Collector Swadha Dev Singh.
Following their divorces from their previous partners, the IAS officers decided to remarry.
Das is an Assamese-born IAS officer from the Gujarat cadre's 2015 batch. She was allowed to change cadre after marrying Odisha-cadre IAS officer Akhtar. She was the Commissioner of Cuttack Municipal Corporation prior to her appointment as Sambalpur Collector (CMC).
According to sources, Rana, a 2014 batch IAS Officer, is an alumnus of NIT Silchar.
