CDPO, SRA Under Vigilance Scanner For Accepting Bribe Of Rs 40,000

On Wednesday, Vigilance sleuths apprehended a Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) and a Senior Revenue Assistant (SRA) for allegedly accepting a Rs 40,000 bribe to issue an appointment letter to an Anganwadi Worker in Odisha's Koraput district.

Koraput: On Wednesday, Vigilance sleuths apprehended a Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) and a Senior Revenue Assistant (SRA) for allegedly accepting a Rs 40,000 bribe to issue an appointment letter to an Anganwadi Worker in Odisha's Koraput district.

The accused were identified as Namita Rani Paul, CDPO of Bandhugaon in Koraput district, and Aswini Kumar Pradhan, SRA in her office, according to a Vigilance release.

The two were apprehended while allegedly demanding and accepting Rs 40,000 from a man to issue an appointment letter and accept his daughter's joining report as an Anganwadi Worker.

According to the CDPO's previous directive, Pradhan was apprehended by a Vigilance team while accepting the demanded bribe from the complainant.

The entire bribe money has been recovered and seized from the accused Pradhan's possession.

A case has been filed under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018, and an investigation is underway against both accused individuals.
