ACSO caught taking bribe in Khordha
Bhubaneswar: On Thursday, Bishnu Charan Parida, an assistant civil supplies officer in Khurda, was arrested by Odisha Vigilance while collecting a Rs 50,000 bribe. On Friday, cash totalling Rs 7.4 lakh was found in his home.
The anti-corruption division searched his government-owned apartment in Bhoinagar, Bhubaneswar.
Official sources claim that the house search continued until early this morning, during which cash in the amount of Rs. 7.40 lakh and 250 grammes of gold were taken. Additional documents pertaining to financial transactions have been found and are currently being verified. According to Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act 2018, a case has been filed.
It is important to note that Parida had asked a rice miller for a bribe of Rs 50,000 to help him run his business.
